de:_ Als junge Mixed-Media-Künstlerin verfolgt Marcy Petit ein multidisziplinäres plastisches Werk. Videos, Fotografien, Performances, Tonaufnahmen, Installationen bilden eine multidisziplinäre Auseinandersetzung. In ihrer Masterarbeit beschäftigte sie sich tiefgreifend mit der sogenannten Relationalen Kunst. Heute setzt sie die Erforschung dieses Begriffs in neu- en Kunstwerken fort. Die Mittel die sie benutzt, zielen darauf ab den „normalen“ oder „schein- bar normalen“ Leuten eine Stimme zu geben. In Ihren künstlerischen Performances stellt ihr eigener Körper ein wichtiges Medium dar. Sie hat eine Reihe von Werken geschaffen, in der sie einen weiblichen Gestus annimmt.
en:_As a young mixed-media artist, Marcy Petit pursues a multidisciplinary plastic work. Videos, photographs, performances, sound recordings, installations … compose a multidisciplinary practice. She made an important research about relational aesthetic. Today, she continues to explore this notion within the conception of several new artworks. The devices she uses seek to give voice to the “normal” or “seemingly ordinary” people. She also first developed a practice oriented to the “performing action”. This artistic medium represents an important part of her artistic work by using her own body as a medium in her work and in performances. She has therefore generated a series of works taking a feminine stance.
Aklumda
de:_ Aklumda (part.2) – Aklumda (part.2/2), Aklumda (part.3/2) and Aklumda (part.4/2) sind vier künstlerische Performances, bei denen die Künstlerin Marcy Petit „die Frau in ihr“ dazu bringt, zwei Stunden lang mit einem Paar hochhackiger Schuhe und einem Neg- ligé durch eine widerspenstige Umgebung zu laufen. Diese Figur, die ein vermeintliches Abbild von Weiblichkeit verkörpert, wird durch die Situation lächerlich gemacht. Während sie auf ihrem Spaziergang voranschreitet, wird die Figur mit einer Umgebung konfrontiert, die sie nicht erkennt, und muss trotz des Bloßstellung und der Gefahren, denen sie ausge- setzt ist, die Hindernisse überwinden. In der Ausstellung sind Aklumda (part.2) – Aklumda (part.2/2), Aklumda (part.3/2) zu sehen.
en:_ Are four artistic performances where the artist Marcy Petit engages ‚the woman inside her‘ to walk for two hours with a pair of high heel shoes and a costume in a difficult and opposing environment. This character, which embodies a supposed model of femi- ninity, is being ridiculed by the situation. As she progresses in her walk, the character is confronted by an environment that she does not recognize and has to overcome the obst- acles despite the ridicule and the dangers she faces.
